A note from Archbishop Kay regarding COVID-19 restrictions

Dear Sisters and Brothers
On the weekend the West Australian Government announced changes to COVID-19 restrictions which we are all pleased about. While 10 people can gather indoors and outdoors with appropriate social distancing, and weddings may now have 10 people rather than the five previously allowed, churches must remain closed:
Religious services during COVID-19 coronavirus
During the coronavirus outbreak we need to change the way we observe our faiths, to protect ourselves and others.
While places of worship remain closed to the public, services can still be streamed online to the community.
We need to remain patient for a while longer in the interest of our communities’ health and well-being.
This restriction includes school chapels and community halls, which includes halls on church property.
Please note the relaxing of these restrictions are about our ‘social bubbles’.
The gospel reading for Sunday was from Luke 24, the road to Emmaus. Our risen Lord is walking with us even as we need to continue in this regime.
Peace and grace
